Multiaxial stress creep rupture mechanisms of AZ31 magnesium alloy

The maximum principal stresses, von Mises effective stresses and principal facet stresses at the time of creep rupture were compared in uniaxial, biaxial, and triaxial stress states for AZ31 magnesium alloy. The creep rupture of this alloy was experimentally controlled by cavitation, which was the result of a low damage tolerance, λ. Creep deformation could be correlated with the von Mises effective stress parameter. The failure-mechanism control parameter governing the stress state coincided with the experimental results of the rupture of the materials under multiaxial stress states. Finally, the theoretical prediction based on constrained cavity growth and continuous nucleation agreed with the experimental rupture data to within a factor of three.

An upper-bound solution to the problem of plate tearing

An upper-bound solution is derived for the problem of the tearing of a metal plate by a rigid wedge. These newly proposed formulas, with no fracture parameters being used, provide an explanation to the problem of plate tearing, which is a phenomenon that occurs in the process of ship grounding. This paper starts with the proposition of a new kinematic model. Based on the fact that in many experiments there is no evidence of cracks extending ahead of the wedge tip, this new kinematic model assumes no separation between the wedge tip and the crack tip in the plate. Another characteristic of this model is that out-of-plane deformation is assumed for the region around the tip, which correlates well with the experimental observations. Rupture of the metal plate is assumed to occur ahead of the wedge tip due to ductile failure. In the case of longitudinally stiffened panels, an equivalent plate thickness is employed to take the effect of stiffeners into consideration. From comparisons of calculations with existing experimental results, it is clear that the present upper-bound solution is effective in predicting resistance force and energy absorption in the process of plate tearing, and that it can provide predictions that are close to those obtained from empirical formulas and from the theoretical formulas of Wierzbicki and Thomas, who assume that cracks run ahead of the wedge tip.     

核动力装置回路水中氚监测用于传热管破损诊断的可行性分析

蒸汽发生器传热管易发生破损,对其破损进行监测是反应堆工艺监测的重要内容之一。分析了核动力装置回路水中氚的产生机理及事故情况下氚在回路水中的迁移过程,利用液体闪烁计数器测量了4个核动力装置一、二回路水中氚的放射性活度浓度。结果表明,一回路水净化后的氚放射性活度浓度与相应的二回路水相比高出2个数量级,分别为633,893,188和394倍,可见利用二回路水中氚的放射性活度浓度来监测蒸汽发生器传热管是否发生破损是可行的。后期,还需对氚的在线实时监测开展深入研究。     

强度折减法在平面滑动型岩质边坡的应用*

岩质边坡平面滑动验算包括岩体内部结构面验算和岩体抗剪强度验算.均质边坡岩体由于抗剪不足产生平面滑动,通过假定破坏面与内摩擦角之间关系迭代求解安全系数,探寻破裂角和内摩擦角之间的关系,进而提出简化估算安全系数公式.通过与数值解对比验算,可知简化公式精度能够满足工程设计要求,可为实际工程提供参考和借鉴.     

以聚丙烯纤维网(FibermeshTM)改善水泥混凝土桥面铺装性能的初步研究

为避免桥面铺装混凝土的早期破坏，增加行车的舒适性，延长铺装厦桥梁主体的使用寿命．研究以聚丙烯纤维网水泥混凝土替代普通水泥混凝土作为桥面铺装材料．改善混凝土性能并利用聚丙烯纤维网良好的施工性能和化学稳定性。通过试验研究其主要力学性能，并对试验结果加以分析。
